If there's such a thing as a dental phobic, I am one of those. I've had a lot of dental work done in the past, mostly unsatisfactory. Smoking and some unfortunately inherited family traits left my teeth weak, discolored & fractured. I was embarrassed to smile. My mouth was a wreck.

At the urging of a friend, I contacted Melissa Taylor at Taylor Made Smiles. After undergoing a thorough evaluation, we came to an agreement on a treatment plan. Much care was given to my comfort and concerns by Dr. Missy. We worked out a plan that was both satisfactory and affordable. Dr. Missy treats me like a partner and keeps me informed at every stage of the process. After the first couple of months of treatment, the porcelain veneers on my front teeth have given me a new confidence. My smile is natural and brilliant and my mouth is on its way to being as healthy as it was when I was a teenager.

Having been avoiding dental work for over 20 years, I avoided smiling at all around friends and co-workers due to years of chipped, broken teeth and gums that were not healthy. All this 'dentalphobia' brought on by unpleasant dental memories that I experienced in dental practices used in my younger years. I decided that I wanted to smile again and searched online for local dental practices that offered Relaxation Dentistry as well as the latest dental procedures and equipment along with a pleasing atmosphere and caring attitude.

I found all this and more at Taylor Made Smiles.

My first appointment involved x-rays being taken and a thorough periodontal exam for gum diseases completed. A healthy smile starts with healthy gums and I would rate their periodontal program highly. A step by step program was then developed to start me on my way to a better smile. If needed, a financing program is available.

I must stress their program of relaxation dentistry for those who want their dental work performed as quickly and painlessly as I have experienced. I needed extensive dental work which would have taken numerous appointments and considerable time if I had not elected to have relaxation dentistry performed which required only 2 appointments of 4-5 hours each. Each session, I was given a small pill to be taken 1 hour before arriving at the dental office. You must select a responsible person to be your driver both to and from the dental office as you cannot drive while under medication. During the relaxation procedure, I was always awake and responding to the assistants as normal. The time went by very quickly and was over in what seemed like only 1/2 hour. After both relaxation sessions, I cannot remember much about any procedures performed or any pain experienced but I have a very nice smile to show for it.

Although my dental work is not complete as of yet, I am very pleased with the results to date that have given me a more confident attitude and a natural smile that I have not had in quite some time. I would highly recommend anyone to start their way towards a natural, healthy smile by making an appointment with Dr. Missy and her associates at Taylor Made Smiles.

My girls love going for their checkups because everyone is so nice to them. My experience with Dr. Missy and her staff has been first-rate. My hygienist, Gigi, is caring and careful with a very sensitive set of 60-year-old teeth. The atmosphere is homey yet totally professional. Highly recommended.

Taylor Made Smiles and Dr. Missy are the best! I used to hate to make a dentist appointment but I do not worry with Taylor Made Smiles because they are SO accommodating and very aware of our needs as patients. They follow up with you after your procedures to make sure you are comfortable and that your needs are met. My husband has to have cleanings that normally you have to go to a specialist, but he is able to do that at Taylor Made Smiles and he actually looks forward to seeing Amanda. I would not recommend anyone else but Dr. Missy and her staff!

I just wanted to write you all a short note with our heartfelt gratitude for the change in our lives. Words cannot express what a difference this has made for my husband.

The difference the makeover made for Colin, was a transformation that he had been waiting a lifetime for. He never was able as a child to get braces, much less true care for his teeth, when you all came along it was a true blessing to us both. I have seen him smile so much since you all did the crowns, and before he hid his smile, covered his mouth when he spoke, the normal things I am sure you all hear. He is so happy to have this change and you truly don't know, and will never know what a difference it has made in his life. He is more confident now and has no trouble speaking to anyone without that worry.

Colin is becoming a better man because of the work you all did, and I just wanted to let you know that you all touched our lives as well as remedied a situation that has lasted for 15 years.

Faced with an unexpected change of insurance in early 2008, I was dismayed to find that the dental office to which I went for treatment, since 1973 was not a provider on the plan. It was most distressing as I was now after all those years trying to choose a provider from their list. I was referred by a friend to Taylor Made Smiles. As being run by Dr. Missy Taylor a native Mississippian as were we. As I began inquiring, I found that Taylor Made Smiles was on my provider list, to my delight. From the initial appointment call throughout my first visit, I was most impressed by the staff, the locality of the office in downtown Franklin, the ambiance of the office and the extremely friendly and professional staff. It is a happy office, very up-beat and friendly. This is exactly where I wanted to be! After meeting Dr. Missy a detailed explanation of treatment was explained and I began a series of treatments that were to address a problem here to fore not dealt with. The state of the art equipment and the expert care coupled with a wonderful atmosphere have all made going to the dentist not a thing to be dreaded but always a good and pleasant experience. She recommended a dentist for Rob and I to try. Wow! She was right on. Rob went first and called me and said..."you are going to like it!" Yep, one step in and I knew I would like. Looks like a model house. Beautiful decor, amazing smells throughout, ummmm and did I mention a paraffin hand treatment? Doesn't look anything like a dentist office. Which is perfectly fine with me! So there you have it. A cool, hip, state-of-the-art dentistry. Oh-the things that make me happy.

If anyone is looking for a dentist, I highly recommend going to Dr. Melissa Taylor. My grandfather was a dentist in KY, so I've always been rather particular about my dental experiences and I was thrilled with Melissa and her entire staff! Not only did they do a great job, the office is awesome and very relaxing. Its not like any dental experience you've ever had...go check it out!
